Of the 58 licensed stores whose hours we confirmed on their own websites on October 5, 2026, 34 list a closing time of 9:45 p.m. or later. Encinitas, La Mesa and Santee set an earlier closing time.

Why no dispensary is open 24 hours

State rules set the hours for every licensed cannabis retailer in California: sales only between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.. An in-store sale must be finished by 10 p.m., and delivery drivers must be back at the store by 10 p.m.. A city or county can set shorter hours, and cannot allow longer ones.
