For visitors
Can you get weed delivered to a hotel in San Diego?
Yes. A licensed retailer may deliver to any physical address in California, a hotel included, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., and the driver checks your ID at the door. Deliveries may not go to public land or to a building a public agency leases. A privately operated hotel can still prohibit cannabis use, and some hotels occupy publicly owned land.
How a delivery works
Order from a licensed store; it delivers between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., or for fewer hours where the city sets them. The driver confirms your age and identity from your ID and hands the order to you in person.
Where it cannot be delivered
- Publicly owned land, such as a city beach or park.
- Land or a building leased by a public agency.
- A school, day care or youth center.
Your hotel’s rules still apply
Check that the hotel permits delivery and is on eligible private property. A privately operated hotel may occupy public land. Its smoking and cannabis-use policies still apply, including in rooms and on balconies. Public consumption is prohibited everywhere in the city, so the beach is not the fallback.
Common questions
Can I get weed delivered to my hotel in San Diego?
Yes, if the hotel permits it and is at an eligible private address. Delivery to public land is prohibited. The driver checks your ID, and the hotel’s cannabis-use rules still apply.
What hours can cannabis be delivered in San Diego?
Between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.. A city or county can set shorter hours, so ask the store for its last delivery time.
Can weed be delivered to the beach?
No. A delivery may not go to publicly owned land, which includes city beaches and parks, and public consumption is prohibited there anyway.
What ID do I need for a cannabis delivery?
The same as in a store: a valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older, or 18 or older with a physician’s recommendation for medicinal cannabis.
Can a store deliver to a city with no dispensaries?
Yes. A licensed retailer may deliver to a physical address in any jurisdiction in California.
